For this week’s episode of our Homegrown Series, SSO violist Elizabeth Rose and her daughter Georgia, on Violin, play the beautifully lilting Irish air Sí Bheag, Sí Mhór. Usually attributed to Turlough O’Carolan (1670 – 1738), the title translates to “Small Fairy Mound, Big Fairy Mound,” and refers to a site in County Meath where legend has it that “two battling giants were turned by a wizard into two hills.”
