In this week’s edition of the SSO Homegrown Series, Principal Violist Ronald Gorevic plays three movements arranged for viola from what many consider to be the greatest of J.S. Bach’s Cello Suites, No. 5 in C minor. The slow, emotional introduction of the Prelude leads to an energetic fugue; the Sarabande is simple and haunting; and the Gigue has a skipping pattern which dominates the movement.
