On February 2, 2025, over 125 young musicians graced the stage of Springfield Symphony Hall as part of their Winter Concert performance! Three ensembles were featured at the concert – the Springfield Youth Camerata, under the baton of Capella Sherwood performed three works including Haydn’s Surprise Symphony. Next, The Springfield Youth Sinfonia under the baton of Matt Bertuzzi performed three concerti, featuring 2024 Concerto Competition winners Ethan Carvalho, Evan Carvalho, and Isla Lachman Ferris. Additionally, the group performed Kentucky 1800, conducted by Education Programs Coordinator Maxwell Jordan; and Leonard Bernstein’s Mambo from West Side Story. Lastly, the Springfield Youth Orchestra under the baton of Jonathan Lam performed Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8. The SSYO faculty and staff thanks our students, educators, and families who made this day full of music and joy possible!
