These women show us the possibilities, the future, and the opportunities to inspire change.

When we celebrate the achievements of one woman, we celebrate the achievements of all women. We pave the path for our future leaders, bring awareness to industries underrepresented by women, elevate visibility to women-led businesses and impact the value women contribute at all levels of business as well as to our community. A fearless woman is not defined by her story, she is empowered by it.

On May 18, 2024, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra will honor fearless women in our community while celebrating amazing music.

How will nominees know if they have been selected to attend the Women of the Year event?

All nominees are recognized at the Magic & Glory concert on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Springfield Symphony Hall. Nominators will be notified by April 12 if a nomination is not accepted. Fearless Women recipients in each category are announced at the event.

Who can be nominated for a Fearless Women award?

The nominee must be a resident in, physically work in, or be making a positive impact in Springfield, MA or surrounding towns. We invite you to consider women “behind the scenes” as well as those in the public eye for all categories!

    Can I nominate myself?

Absolutely, we want to encourage all women to recognize their peers and themselves at this event.

Are there any dates that the nominee should hold on their calendar?

Both the nominator and the nominee will receive one ticket to our May 18 concert, Magic & Glory. Any additional guests must purchase a ticket to attend.  Tickets are available to purchase online or by calling: 413-733-2291.

    What are the judging criteria?

Your completed form is the only tool used to determine the merits of each nominee for this award. Selection committee reviews all applications to select inspiring women to invite at our Fearless Women concert.

At the discretion of the SSO, individual or business nominees whose credentials contradict or detract from the SSO mission will not be accepted. It is the intent of SSO to honor every nominee received through the nomination process, yet the organization reserves the right to limit the number of nominees included in the program due to program length and seating capacity of the venue.
