In this week’s episode of SSO Homegrown, Principal Flute Ann Bobo and Piccolo/Flutist Ellen Redman offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what it’s like to play together in the flute section of the SSO, using movements from two pieces performed at recent SSO concerts as examples – Symphony No. 4 in A Major, “Italian,” by Felix Mendelssohn, and Symphony No. 2 in C Minor, “Resurrection,” by Gustav Mahler. Along the way, Ann and Ellen also talk about what it’s like to be a musician during a pandemic, and the things they miss during this time.
