The entire Springfield Symphony Orchestra family stands in solidarity with communities across Massachusetts, New England, and our nation to condemn the systemic racism, hatred, oppression, and violence that has plagued our Black and Brown neighbors for far too long.

Music has the unique ability to bring people together — and heal — across boundaries and divisions, and we take our work to enhance the musical life of the region we serve very seriously. But for all the work we do regarding outreach and inclusion, we realize that we do not do enough. We should be lifting up everyone in our community, especially those who are marginalized and hurting.

We look to this moment as a catalyst for change from within.

We will do better.
