The $50,000 Challenge for the SSO!

In November 2019, an anonymous donor came to the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and pledged to increase their own gift in the 2019-2020 season and to inspire others to do the same. They pledged $50,000 to match ALL increases from November 1 thru May 31, as follows:

• ALL increases in giving this season (’19-’20) over last (’18-’19) will be matched, dollar for dollar (1:1)
• If your renewed gift and increase also moves you UP one or more named giving levels, your increase will be double matched (2:1)
• If you have given in the past, but NOT last year, then your full gift will be matched (1:1)
• And, if your gift this season is your very first gift ever, then your entire gift will be double matched (2:1)

As of May 31, 2020, hundreds of donors – new and old – have made increased gifts this year in order to take full advantage of this extraordinary matching challenge pledge. The SSO has received increased gifts in excess of $51,000, and we have now achieved the full $50,000 match!
