SPRINGFIELD, MASS.,--MAR. 27, 2017—Again this spring, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) will commemorate its long-standing commitment to Western Massachusetts with the Anything Goes Spring Gala. This year’s Gala will take place in the specular glass atrium of 1550 Main St., Springfield, Mass., and will include live music, a three-course meal, an auction and a ballroom dancing performance. The proceeds of the event provide funds to continue the SSO’s 73-year tradition of maintaining and developing high-quality artistic, education and community programming that enlightens and entertains audiences of all ages.

The elegant black-tie-optional evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a three-course dinner, both catered by The Federal. Diners will be treated to the accompaniment of live music from the Eric Bascom Band, featuring the sounds of Cole Porter, and a professional ballroom dancing performance demonstrating swing dances popular in the 1930s, including the Lindy Hop, Jive and Jitterbug.

A live auction closes the evening, with patrons bidding on such luxury items as a Viking River Cruise on the winner’s choice of the Rhine or Danube Rivers.

Tickets to the event are $150 per person, and an RSVP is required by April 29 to 413-733-0636, Ext. 118 or bcouture@springfieldsymphony.org.
