Gershwin & Rimsky-Korsakov

Classical Concert
Saturday Apr 12th, 2014 7:30 PM
Kevin Rhodes , Conductor
Joyce Yang, Piano

The electrifying Joyce Yang returns to Symphony Hall for “The American” piano concerto, Gershwin's Concerto in F, which features the amazing brass section of the SSO. The orchestra undertakes two masterworks…the seldom heard Antar Symphony of Rimsky Korsakov which, like his Scheherazade, is a middle-eastern themed work; and the yardstick for every major orchestra, Richard Strauss’ epic and virtuosic Don Juan.

  • R. Strauss Don Juan
  • Rimsky-Korsakov Symphony No. 2 “Antar”
  • Gershwin Piano Concerto in F

Remember, youths ages 4 to 17 are half price.
Children under 4 are not allowed in the Hall.

Springfield Symphony Orchestra performances are 7:30PM at Springfield Symphony Hall, 34 Court Street, Springfield MA 01103 • Doors open at 6:00PM
