Our spring of musical voyages continues, with works inspired by two magical countries on the Mediterranean Sea – Spain and Greece. Music of mythic proportions dominates the first half of the evening, with Liszt’s Prometheus and Saint-Saens’ Youth of Hercules. The program also features DeFalla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain, with the talents of guest pianist Washington Garcia, in his SSO debut.
Classical Conversations Pre-Concert Discussions: Enhance your concert experience with an informal half-hour discussion before each Classical Concert at 6:30pm in Symphony Hall. During the 2016-2017 concert season, we look forward to featuring a series of Classical Conversations guest lecturers, for lively discussions & audience questions about that evening’s Classical concert program. On this evening, the discussion will be led by Steve Swayne (Dartmouth College Music Dept. Chair). Classical Conversations discussions begin at 6:30pm in Symphony Hall, and are free to all ticket holders.
