The electrifying Joyce Yang returns to Symphony Hall for “The American” piano concerto, Gershwin's Concerto in F, which features the amazing brass section of the SSO. The orchestra undertakes two masterworks…the seldom heard Antar Symphony of Rimsky-Korsakov which, like his Scheherazade, is a
middle-eastern themed work; and the yardstick for every major orchestra,
Richard Strauss’ epic and virtuosic Don Juan.
