Over the river and through the woods for a Christmas concert inspired by Currier and Ives’ famous prints. A traditional New England concert with the orchestra and chorus performing such favorites as Sleigh Ride, The Skater’s Waltz, I’ll be Home for Christmas, Silent Night, audience sing-along, and other holiday favorites. The concert will showcase a selection of Currier & Ives prints from the Springfield Museum of Fine Arts, home of the country’s only permanent museum gallery devoted to the work of these well-known “printmakers to the people.”
All I Want For Christmas ~ In the spirit of holiday giving, The SSO is collecting new, unwrapped, toys for children enrolled in Head Start programs throughout
the Greater Springfield area. Collection boxes will be placed in the lobby for both concerts.
