Over 100 guests celebrated the opening night of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s classical season at a pre-concert gala dinner that raised nearly $33,000 for the benefit of the orchestra. Bid cards were raised especially high during the “Belden Bonanza” as hosts Betsy and Sandy Belden led the crowd in supporting three identified needs. Guests made gifts of $250 for a scholarship for one musician in the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestras, $150 for a Musical Petting Zoo visit to a kindergarten through second-grade classroom, and $100 for one hour’s rehearsal time for one musician.
